As if you needed more proof of how special Luka is, he delivers tonight, in what has become typical Luka fashion.
Doncic, with the game tied at 107, took matters into his own hands and drilled a step back triple on TWO Celtics defenders to give the Mavs a 110-107 victory on Tuesday night February 23rd. With the win, Dallas improved to 15-15 and at the time just a game behind GSW for 8th and have won 7 of their last 10.
Luka finished with 31, 8 and 10, just two assists shy of a triple double. Brunson continues to play well, providing a spark off the bench with 22 points. Josh Richardson added 16 points.
The Mavericks were without Kristaps Porzingis who’s been the subject of trade rumors. Boban filled in admirably early on and contributed 10 points and 8 rebounds on 5-7 shooting.
The Celtics were led by Jaylen Brown and Jayson Tatum with 29 and 28 points respectively. Boston falls to 15-16 and a game behind the Raptors for 5th in the East.
The box score at the end of the night looks eerily similar for both teams with only a slight rebounding edge for Boston. The Mavs hit more of their free throws and were more efficient from deep. The difference was, the Celtics didn’t have number 77 on their side.
