WHO I AM
My name is Alex Bustillo and this is what I do, I love to cover sports, share my opinion and engage other sports enthusiasts. I also like to relate sports to reality and everyday life, because, although it may seem crazy, not everyone cares about sports as much as I do. But if I can get them to care just for a minute, I feel I've done them a service.
I have an incredible family that supports me starting with my wife, Heidi Bustillo and my 3 kids, Logan, Alicia and Melissa. My mom has been instrumental in my success and is always willing to help with the kids and financially when the going gets tough. I'm originally from Miami, Florida and I moved to North Texas in January 2003. This state has been home ever since. Although I miss Miami and my friends I left behind, Texas has been a blessing to me and my family.
I graduated from the University of North Texas with a Bachelor of Arts in Integrative Studies, which means I studied a little bit of everything there was to offer!! But I specialized in Foreign Language, Marketing and Journalism. My background is primarily in Wireless Sales and Automotive Sales with a few other experiences mixed in. I have a passion for writing and talking about sports and it's been that way since my childhood when I was following all the Miami, Florida professional and collegiate teams.
WHAT I DO
I currently have a normal full time job as a Bilingual Claims Contact Center Supervisor at Liberty Mutual Insurance in Plano, Texas. It's a refreshing change from what I'm used to and it's a great organization with a huge footprint across the globe. I'm an accredited sports writer who's covered the Frisco RoughRiders, the Double A affiliate of the the Texas Rangers, the SMU Mustangs Football and Men's Basketball team, the WNBA's Dallas Wings, the ECHL affiliate of the San Jose Sharks, the Allen Americans, FC Dallas and most recently the Conference USA Men's and Women's basketball tournament from The Star in Frisco. I play softball in Plano and Frisco and that always helps relieve some of the daily stress we all have to deal with.

Dad
I'm a father to an amazing little boy pictured on the right (that's an old pic). He's 7 years old and growing so fast. I have two beautiful step daughters Alicia, who's 15 and Melissa who's 20!! Those two ladies sure keep me on my toes.

Husband
I'm married to an incredible woman, Heidi, who's been my rock for almost 12 years and we've been married since February 12, 2012. She continues to be supportive and she'll make an occasional appearance on the page.

Son
My parents whom I love dearly, are not only incredibly patient with me but have never hesitated to help when they can. Without them I'd be in a world of trouble. Thanks Mom, I love you more than words can say. Thanks Dad, you're always the cooler head and we thank you for that. You're an inspiration.
