Unanimous MVP vs. the "real" MVP?

The stage is set for the rematch everyone wanted, or most of us wanted, the Cleveland Cavaliers and the defending champion Golden State Warriors. Golden State came back from 3-1 deficit to eliminate the Oklahoma City Thunder 96-88 on Memorial Day. They became the 10th NBA team to accomplish the feat. The confidence never wavered and if any team could overcome it, why not the defending NBA Champions and 73 win, record setting Golden State Warriors.

I hope you didn't stay out by the pool too long and have one too many burgers and missed this game, but if you did, not to worry, you'll be able to catch the replay on NBA TV I'm sure. What an incredible performance by Steph Curry and the entire Warriors unit. They trusted each other and played their style of basketball and eventually the Thunder could not keep up. Was it more of a meltdown by OKC or did the Warriors finally decide to start playing the style of basketball that got them the record setting 73 wins and the 1st seed in the Western Conference? We can argue all day about it and I'd welcome some commentary on the subject, but their journey is far from over.

The Warriors quest for a second straight NBA title continues Thursday evening as they'll face a hungry Cavaliers team who's been here before but never tasted the sweetness of capturing the Larry O' Brien Trophy. It's a star studded match up between teams that play different styles but have been relying on the deep ball this postseason and have shot it at an incredible mark. LeBron's Big Three and the supporting cast might be the best he'll have for the remainder of his career while he's still playing at an elite level.

It will be interesting to see how Coach Tyronn Lue sets his lineup to matchup against the high octane offense of GSW. Who will guard Steph Curry? We know Lebron can guard any position, will he be on Klay Thompson and force him to drive where he'll likely meet Love or Thompson. Draymond Green presents another matchup nightmare. Will Kevin Love continue his stellar play? Tristan Thompson and the Cavaliers bench along with the battle of the boards will be the difference in this series. If Cleveland outrebounds the Warriors and commits less turnovers, the Cavs will be parading down city streets and popping champagne bottles after June 19th.

Don't miss it, you'll be sorry. It could be the beginning of a dynasty or the last hoorah for the City of Cleveland. Lebron James almost beat the Warriors by himself in last year's Finals and his sidekick was Matthew Dellavedova. With his core healthy, I can't justify picking against the Cavs, despite the comeback the Warriors just completed. #CavsNation or #DubCity???
