Cavs advance to second straight NBA Finals

The Cleveland Cavaliers finished off the Toronto Raptors in Game 6 of the Eastern Conference Finals Friday night 113-87 to move on to the NBA Finals to face either the Oklahoma City Thunder or the defending champion Golden State Warriors. The Cavs Big Three combined for 83 points and each scored over 20 points for the sixth time this postseason after doing it only twice in 82 games during the regular season.

Lebron James finished with 33 points and 11 rebounds, Kyrie Irving added 30 points and 9 assists and Kevin Love had a solid double double with 20 points and 12 rebounds. Cleveland looks to have found their groove and they couldn't have done it at a better time. Tyronn Lue answered the critics and made the necessary adjustments to win Games 5 and 6 in convincing fashion. In the post game conference he made sure to give credit to the Toronto Raptors for a great series and forcing the Cavaliers to play their best ball.

Dwane Casey and the Toronto Raptors and their fans have nothing to be ashamed of. The Raptors had a franchise record 56 wins this season and advanced to the Eastern Conference Finals for the first time since their inception in 1995. They've got two very young All Star guards in Kyle Lowry and DeMar Derozan who are emerging as elite guards in the league and great centers in Bismack Biyombo and Jonas Valenciunas. The future for Toronto is very bright and they'll continue to make deep runs in the playoffs if their core stays healthy.

Lebron James will be making his sixth consecutive appearance in the NBA Finals and this season his running mates are healthy and clicking on all cylinders. The Finals match up will be scintillating regardless of who the Cavs play. The pace and the spacing on the floor will be incredible and it will be basketball at its best. Make sure your schedule is cleared for Thursday June 2nd as the 2016 NBA Finals will commence. I'm picking the Cavaliers to finally end the drought for Cleveland professional sports and for Lebron to bring home to Akron his third title and coveted first for his hometown Cavs.
